Secret Society of Second-Born Royals is an upcoming American contemporary science fantasy action superhero film. Anna Mastro serves as director, with a screenplay co-written by Alex Livak and Andrew Green, based on an original story by Litvak, Green, and Austin Winsberg. Zanne Devine, Mike Karz and Winsberg serve as producers. Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Skylar Astin and Élodie Yung star in the film. The film was produced in association with Disney Channel.[2][3]
Secret Society of Second-Born Royals is set to be released on Disney+ on September 25, 2020.
Plot[edit]
The film follows Sam, "a rebellious princess second in line to the throne of the kingdom of Illyria. Just as Sam’s lack of interest in the royal way of life is at an all-time high, she is stunned to learn that she has superpowers and belongs to a secret society with a longstanding tradition of covertly keeping the peace throughout the kingdom. The movie follows Sam’s adventures at a top-secret training program for a new class of second-born royals tasked with saving the world."[2]

Production[edit]
In March 2019, it was reported that Secret Society of Second-Born Royals was in development for Disney+ with executive producers Austin Winsberg and Mike Karz, directed by Anna Mastro, and written by Alex Litvak and Andrew Green.[4] By May, Zanne Devine and Juliana Janes signed on as executive producer and co-producer, respectively.[2] The script is based on an original story by Litvak, Green, and Winsberg.[5] Élodie Yung revealed on later that month that she had been cast in the film.[6] The cast was later announced with Peyton Elizabeth Lee in the lead role.[7][2] Greg Bryk will co-star as the film's primary antagonist.[8]
Filming took place in Mississauga, Ontario at University of Toronto Mississauga from May 6 to June 29, 2019.[9]
Release[edit]
The film is scheduled for release on September 25, 2020 on Disney+.[10] It was previously scheduled to release on Disney+ on July 17, 2020.[11]
